I am aware that the plant freezes the game for some people. I am currently trying to replicate the issue in my game and figure out the cause!

     

Details

  • Kiwi can be found under 'Misc Appliances' . [ Search for 'Kiwi' the search bar for easy access]
  • Cost - 5 simoleons 
  • Can be planted and harvested
  • Jalapeno is tagged as a fruit , so can be eaten raw or used in recipes which require fruit as a cooking ingredient. (Custom recipes to come )
  • Eco pack compatible (Fizzy Juices to come later)
  • University compatible ( can be stored in dorm chest)
  • Compatible with RoM spells and Island Living conservationist career.
  • Can be sold using City Living Craft sales table, Grocery market stall
  • Toddler compatible (aka toddlers can eat the harvestable, play with the plant)
  • Pets Compatible
  • Growing season : Spring, Summer, Fall

Buff


  • Eating the Jalapeno harvestable raw will give a moodlet/buff
  • +2 Energized
  • 120 sim minutes

  • 0.5x Hunger Decay




Use Increased Hunger Bonus Mod if you want the sims to gain more hunger motive points from eating harvestables

    Having problems with the kiwi locking up my game, but no LE. Base game, but no seasons. Tried twice, once w/p1.62 and then today w/p1.63, same results.

      Are you getting any LE ? Just its presence is locking up the game or planting it ? Do you have the latest patch ?

    Hi, I'm having issues with the kiwi, the plant option doesn't appear when on the ground but my sims won't plant if its in the garden planter box.

      It is not plantable in the planter box because of the big trellis mesh. Are you trying to plant the fruit or the plant ? What options do you get when you place the kiwi on the ground/terrain ?

    I am also having issues with the kiwi. My sim planted the fruit in the ground, I used the testingcheat to grow it blossoming, I got a LE, but the game functioned fine. Then I had to close the game to run some errands. When I got back home and loaded my game, it wouldn't load my save, at all. I had to manually exit out and try again. Finally I remembered the LE and went and removed the kiwi from my mods folder, cleared cache, and my save loaded just fine.

      Hey can you send me the LE ? I am going to remake the kiwi plant..the mesh is too big i think so I am going to tweak it a little

      I will put the file back in and generate a new one. I'm pretty sure I deleted everything when I took out the kiwi file!

      Ok I put the files back in and tried to reproduce the LE. My game completely froze up 2x instead. So here is what I was/am doing that got the LE. I bought the Kiwi through srsly's cooking overhaul farmer's market store. I pulled the kiwi out of my sims inventory, placed it on the ground, had him plant it. Then I always use the testingcheats on and shift click and set growth state to blossoming. As soon as I do that the game threw a LE last time and now is just freezing the game.

      Thanks..I think the mesh is too large for a bish. I will try to reduce the size of the mesh and test. Did you plant in a crowded area ( crowded with plants etc) or an open are ?

      Dear Munmun, I have crashed with this Icemunmun_kiwi.package file. It causes white hang after planting with crowded garden. Hope to modify this with fix. Thanks.

    MunMun, I'm having the same issue with the kiwi causing a white screen then crashing. More specifically, the kiwi will not sprout and when I use debug cheats to force a blossom, this happens. I'm updated and nothing else I have causes the game to crash.

      Hey this is a known issue for some people. Since i couldnt reproduce the issue in my setting, I will upload an alternate version where the kiwi grows on a tree instead of a vine. Currently my patrons are testing the alternate version..I will update the post soon with the alternate version if it works okay.

    I had the same issue with the kiwi. As soon as it was going to move to the phase where it looks like a table (sorry, don't know what that's called lol) the game starting eating up all of my available RAM. I tried it on an empty lot but had the same issue. I have the latest updates including the Snowy Escape pack. I love your work though, it's great being able to grow and use garden items other than the ones EA provides.

    Major problem with your Kiwi. Planted it on the ground, used cheats to grow it to mature state (to make sure there was enough room for the mesh in my garden). The game froze; I checked my Task Manager and the game just started massively consuming memory. Upwards of 17% and climing. I finally force-quit the game when it went to 20%.
